As smartphone adoption continues to grow at a remarkable rate, Jessica Simon, director of insights and analytics at HealthCentral, has some interesting observations around mobile internet activity in the health care category:

  • Mobile health information seekers exhibit a heightened sense of urgency, emotion and privacy
  • Most mobile visitors are accessing sites through long-tail search
  • Mobile visitors land on Q&A and blog post content more often than desktop visitors
  • There is a higher percentage of mobile visitors on the weekends than weekdays
