It’s January and, in a lot of people’s minds, it’s back to basics. Here’s a basic you might not have thought of: Google Alerts. Google Alerts is one of those easy-to-use-but-it’s-so-easy-no-one-ever-thinks-to-use-it marketing tools.
Monitor the web for breaking news stories, your brand, your competitors, or your favorite sports (sailing, anyone?). You can choose the topic, how often you want to receive your alerts, the volume (as in “everything that’s out there” or “the best”), and which email address you want this info delivered to.
it’s really ridiculously easy. Do it now before you forget and I need to remind you of this next year.
